Silent or Unattended Installation. It is possible to install Git for Windows silently using the following flags when called from a command-line prompt. How to install a.msu update on Windows 7 from the command line. To install an.msu update package, run Wusa.exe together with the full path of the file. For example, if the Windows6.0-KB934307-x86.msu file is in the D: 934307 folder, type the following command at a command prompt to install the update package. A simple Google search of “silently install ” should lead you to the right parameters and maybe even some tips to creating a silent install for your particular application. Note: As a forewarning, not all applications will offer silent parameters.
The executable program that interprets packages and installs products is Msiexec.exe.

Msiexec also sets an error level on return that corresponds to System Error Codes.
